Geocaching was not one of the things that had been on my list of things to investigate. But when the staff at the Tourism Association began discussing Geocaching, there was an excitement about participating in such a fun activity and we all knew that this was the perfect activity with our recreational paths and environment to do in Peachtree City.
If you haven’t heard about it, Geocaching is the same scavenger or treasure hunt that has fascinated young and old throughout the years but with done with a GPS device. People all over the world have hidden containers outside with everything from notes to prizes that can be discovered by anyone equipped with a GPS device. This has become not only a great activity for people who seek a little adventure but also families who want to spend time together in a fun, out of the ordinary activity.
The Peachtree City staff has also been excited about getting involved in Geocaching and reached out last month with an informational request to the community “Do you Geocache and would you like an event here in Peachtree City?” They received a great response back, but as we plan a future Geocache event in Peachtree City we would still like more input on what kind of Geocaching activities and events should be held as well as suggestions of new hidden locations. We welcome any comments you may have or e-mail us at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
